Ask for the Old Paths,

Jeremiah 6:16  Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

I just read this interesting post on my friends blog. It is a really good reminder & clarification as to how far society has strayed from "simple wisdom". It hasn't taken long; less than a hundred years for generations to be totally ignorant of proper conduct. As Christians we must do what we can to keep simple truths from falling in the streets & being trampled & forgotten. We must re-establish morals in the hearts of the youth, & if you notice in this article the rules the teachers were asked to follow was to cause them to be a living example to the children. Proverbs 11:9a  "An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour:..." Children need living examples; they need to see examples of how living a godly life is profitable, & not only profitable, but it's the will of God.  Society in large may never return to the old paths, but each individual that does will make a lasting impact.
It's sad that professing Christians these days are lacking these basic virtues. Things have become so clouded the present generations can't even discern the lack of wisdom in having young women mingle with men. And not only mingle with them, but be out in the dark of night alone or with other young women in public places. When you read the words I  just wrote, it may sound extreme; but when you read the article about how people used to think & behave then you can see clearly how we have lost our way. I know that if I had been raised 100 yrs ago, I would not have had the convenient opportunities to sin that I had growing up in this age that has forsaken the Old Path. Forsaking the Old Path has not bettered mankind.

Let us restore the good way for our children & future generations.
Isaiah 58:12  And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
